The Cornerstone School’s Response to COVID-19

The wellbeing of our community of students, faculty, and families will lead how we learn and operate. As the pandemic continues, Cornerstone will monitor information at the local, state, and national level to evaluate our current and future plans and adjust any protocols in place as needed. Cornerstone will balance risk mitigation strategies with our students’ needs for social and emotional wellbeing and our commitment to prioritize in-person learning. Cornerstone families will receive direct communications regarding any changes to policies and procedures via email and updates to the COVID-19 Handbook Addendum.

Mitigation Strategies

  • The Cornerstone School currently requires universal indoor masking for our Primary program and our employees.

  • Beginning March 21st, Elementary and JR classes will be ‘mask optional’ when COVID-19 Community Levels for Rockingham County are in the Low or Medium range per the CDC and masks will be required if that level goes into the High range. You can access this information via the CDC website or the widget at the bottom of this page.

  • Admission tours are by appointment only. Visitors will be required to fill out a DHHS screening form and wear a face mask at this time. Student visitors (as part of the admissions process) will be required to have a student visitor screening form prior to their visit and wear a mask indoors.

  • Cornerstone families and faculty will utilize an illness reporting form at the onset of symptoms to track the spread of communicable disease within our community and follow up with any required testing. Illness related attendance reports are submitted weekly to the NH Department of Health and Human Services.

    Information

  • A COVID-19 Dashboard will be linked here and updated weekly on Fridays. It is designed to provide transparency to the Cornerstone community while protecting the identity of those who may be isolated or in quarantine.

  • Notifications via the school’s alert system will be made school wide if there is a case of COVID-19 on our campus; additionally the affected classroom(s) will also be alerted regarding contact, expectations for follow-up, and if a closure determination is made by the school and/or the Department of Health and Human Services.

  • The COVID-19 Handbook Addendum is updated and linked here as a resource for Cornerstone families. Given the changing nature of the pandemic, this living document will clarify what the current expectations are for our families and faculty. It will provide guidance on requirements for indoor mask use, illness policies, etc. Any changes made in our operations due to shifts in the pandemic will be updated here.
