Families
There are many opportunities for families to become part of the Cornerstone community! All-school picnics, school performances, celebrations and other all-school events happen throughout the year. The calendar on this website and the semi-weekly school newsletter keep you informed of upcoming events.
In addition, at the classroom level, there are opportunities to read with a student, participate in a class project, or support an event specific to individual classrooms.
There are also opportunities to support classrooms, teachers, and the larger community through the Parent Volunteer Group. There is no joining necessary—you’re already a part of the group!
The Parent Volunteer Group (PVG) is organized to carry out work that is supportive to the school and promotes the well-being of the school. The PVG is involved in welcoming new families, organizing community service projects, coordinating parent efforts regarding teacher appreciation, among other things.
The PVG periodically hosts Parent Coffee. These are informal gatherings to hear about a topic of interest to parents and to learn about PVG events and activities. Everyone is welcome! Minutes are provided to the school community so that parents unable to attend are aware of avenues for participation. Participating with the PVG is a great way to become involved in the life of the school.
Cornerstone Families can more easily connect outside of school utilizing a private social media page that PVG Chairs and parent volunteers moderate to promote connections amongst Cornerstone families via social events outside of school. Anyone can plan an event!
You may Email PVG Chairs with any questions or to get involved!.
